Barton Stanley David
July 26 9:00 pm PDT
Doors Open: 8:30 pm$10.00
Texas solo artist Barton Stanley David’s new album Crest is a study in shifting definitions of adulthood, community, and ultimately, shared perseverance.
Hailed as a “90’s style, seven song alt rock meets chamber pop masterpiece of Americana, tethered together by David’s one of a kind voice” (NPR’s KUTX), Crest was recorded at Modern Electric in Dallas with co-producer Jeff Saenz (Leon Bridges, Paul Cauthen) and Grammy-winning mixer Dave Schiffman (Tom Petty, Adele, The Killers).
A fifth generation Texan, Dallas-bred BSD spent his formative years in the live music capitol of Austin before moving to New York City in 2009 with only a suitcase.
Barton completed his debut EP Blue For East Broadway with help from legendary producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr) and some of New York’s most notable musicians. In 2017 Barton’s cover of the Cars’ 80’s classic “Drive” was featured on NPR’s Acoustic Cafe, KFOG’s Acoustic Sunrise, and Radio Woodstock, among others.
Crest, released on Kenshire Records in April 2022, chronicles the singer’s move back to Texas from New York with new wife Marketa, and takes an existential look at community, isolation and spirituality in the digital age. Glide Magazine calls the album “stirring with a vocally rhythmic grace reminiscent of Damien Rice.” Americana Highways offers “Barton sings with authority and a seasoned tonality. The performances are stellar.”
Crest is available now on all platforms via Kenshire Records.
