Fil-Am Fest – A Songwriter Showcase featuring Filipino-American Twitch Music Streamers celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This showcase is meant to create a sense of community for the AAPI songwriters in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. We’re here to share our music, our message and inspire the community to join in revolutionizing AAPI awareness, support and encourage more opportunities.
Missy Alcazar: Host
Missy Alcazar is a Filipino-American professional pianist, independent singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and true renaissance woman. She performs as a dueling pianist internationally, streams live music daily on Twitch with over 21K followers and manages her own piano studio, art studio & LA Dueling Pianos. Missy holds the title at Disneyland being their first resident female dueling pianist at “Showdown At The Golden Horseshoe.” She’s active in philanthropy and is currently in the process of starting her own non-profit called The Melba Foundation, an organization that offers free music lessons, music supplies, and live entertainment to the community in honor of her mom.
CA in LA
Since 2013, Courtney and Ashleigh, CA in LA, have created over 100 films and played thousands of songs together. In addition to touring the world with their work screening in film festivals, their music blends ambient tones with haunting harmonies to create a tragic blend of heartbreak. Passionate about storytelling and creating unique experiences through film & music, their content explores themes of identity, relationships, and mental health.

The Complements
Often recognized for their soulful vocal harmonies and charming performances, The Complements are an award-winning singer-songwriter duo who sound like they walked off the set of a Disney / Glee crossover show. They released their debut EP Lend a Hand in 2017, and followed that up with their Coffee Shop Tour in 2018-19, which took them from Hawaii to Nashville and all over the West Coast. In 2020, they brought their performances online, where they continue to create unique musical experiences and reach a global audience that has fully funded their recent releases, Songs from Hamilton and Songs for Your Wedding. In 2022 they resumed touring, including performances at TwitchCon in San Diego and the Hotel Cafe. They are currently working on their next EP of original work. Greg is an L.A. native and is a classically trained pianist and self-taught guitarist. Aleesha grew up in Europe and Asia and has a musical theater background. Together they aim to spread a positive message through their music.

NIX
NIX aka Krista Lee is the singer/songwriter of female fronted Alt-Rock band, Dead End Amelia. “The Shift” was her first EP debut as a solo artist in 2019. Captivating our hearts with the sexy, melodic dream-like track “Don’t Wake Me Up.” NIX teamed up with long time band-mate, friend and producer, Dean Dichoso on her late EP and most recent release, “All My Friends Are Gone.” Soulcrafting emotions into sounds and dark atmospheres with moody guitars and shades of alt-pop and contemporary r&b NIX defines her songwriting as a healing tool for self-reflection and empowerment.

Michael Barnum
Michael Barnum is a singer-songwriter and creative storyteller born and raised in Southern California known worldwide for his livestreams on Twitch (10.1K followers). He has risen through the ranks whilst accumulating over 225,000 streams across Spotify. With influences ranging from pop and RnB to folk, Michael has headlined concerts at various iconic music venues in LA including The Hotel Café, Bar Lubitsch, and The Mint. He has also performed alongside artists like, JP Saxe and Sam Fischer. His latest single, ‘Sometimes’ is out now.

Raquel Lily
After having earned their B.S. of Neurobiology from UC Davis, Raquel pivoted from a career in medicine and instead, pioneered the Music category on Twitch. The self-produced bedroom artist explores the sonic space with mart and together, deliver dreamy baby-making music with an indie-pop flair. Both live and on stream, Raquel Lily commands an experience that is fresh, comedically unhinged and unapologetically authentic. Both born in the Philippines and hailing from Miami, FL, they continue to build a global community while touring the United States with their band. Having released their debut album, “Fixations” in 2022 and singles, “oh! chelsea” and “u up?”, Raquel Lily continues to blaze trails, putting on high energy performances, all while live streaming in front of their hyper-fannatical online community.
