Ida Metsberg is a Finnish-born singer-songwriter, who has been living in New York since 2012. She originally moved to the city to study musical theatre, which is part of the reason why telling stories through her music is so important for her. Her songs have a certain Finnish melancholic undertone with compelling (and sometimes really sarcastic) lyrics. Her style has been described as traditional singer-songwriter pop/folk, and her music has been said to remind people of artists such as Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Sara Bareilles. Her EP, Somebody New, will be out October 7, with the first single, How Do You Do It? dropping September 23.
