Doors Open: 6:30 pm

Jess Best is a singer-songwriter who weaves together sound and emotion to create worlds of her own. Currently based out of Los Angeles, she is constantly creating and releasing new music, in addition to penning songs for other artists. In this performance, Jess will be playing all new music from her unreleased album, ‘Clear.’ This project was written over the course of this past year alongside her producer Connor Schultze. Searching for inspiration in seclusion, ‘Clear’ came out of a desire to collage existing sonic world’s together to create a cohesive sound of classic drum breaks, acoustic guitars, 90s vocal samples and melodic bass lines.
‘Clear’ is a project of love dedicated to all whose work has inspired and created this project. This one time event at Hotel Cafe will be the only time Jess brings this music to life with a full band recreating and paying homage to the music that inspired this project.

An accomplished performer and multi-disciplinary artist, Brittany Campell represents a new generation of R&B artists. Inspired by the likes of Erykah Badu, Emily King, Amy Winehouse, and Little Dragon, she brings a much-needed new perspective to the modern music world, performing songs that are personal in nature yet universal in scope.

A first generation American, Brittany was born to Jamaican parents in Brooklyn, NY. As the daughter of a reggae DJ, she found herself immersed in music from a young age, even being recruited as a singer for the Metropolitan Opera at age seven. Years later, she emerged on the contemporary scene with her full length debut ‘Stay Gold.’ With its diary-like lyrics and deceptively complex musicianship, it quickly found an audience amongst progressive, open-minded listeners.

Brittany combines an inherent love of classic R&B with a distinctly modern sensibility, challenging perceptions of identity while pushing the genre into bold new territory. By combining her music with self made animations, she creates an immersive experience unlike anything else.

In 2020, Brittany’s career received a major boost when her song ‘Matter’ was included in NPR’s topical ‘Songs of Protest’ playlist. Since then, she has steadily grown in stature, enthralling listeners with her ever-evolving style. Now, as she enters a new phase of her career, Brittany is poised to become one of the era’s most vital young voices.

Ashley has been singing and dancing since she was three years old, and moved to Los Angeles from Miami, Florida, after spending two years in Nashville, for her music career. After attending the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, she was a finalist on NBC’s The Voice Season 12. Having always been in choir, musicals, bands, funk groups, playing gigs in every genre, and writing in every style, she continues to mold and distinguish a “vibe” all her own. She is currently playing showcases and gigs in and around Los Angeles promoting her own music, while also working as a session singer for TV & movies.
