Josiah Johnson and Shaina Shepherd with Delving

November 4 9:30 pm PDT

Second Stage

Doors Open: 9:00 pm

Josiah Johnson is singer-songwriter best known for his time as a founding member of folk-pop powerhouse The Head and the Heart. He has been making a name for himself as a passionate performer and writer since leaving his old band and beginning a solo career in 2018. Josiah writes with a deeply rooted vulnerability and presence, cultivated through a life of dreams, setbacks, and persistence, with the heart at the center.

He released his debut solo album, “Every Feeling on a Loop” in 2020, and a follow up is being released in 2022. His recorded output in 2022 is exciting and adventurous, mixing folk instrumentation with electronics, in the vein of Bon Iver or Sufjan Stevens. His live performances are cathartic, bringing emotive music and story-telling, with melodies that stick in your head for days after.

Shaina Shepherd

Shaina Shepherd is a singer, songwriter, vocal teacher, and community organizer in Seattle, WA. Known for her pervasive style a soul-grunge frontwoman turned piano songstress, Shaina Shepherd’s notable vocal stylings have brought her into various creative spaces — from collaborating with Duff McKagan, members Soundgarden and Heart’s own Nancy Wilson to sharing stages with rock stars like Modest Mouse to being a soloist with the classical ensembles around the country.

Inspired by the parallels between gospel and garbage metal, Shepherd is embarking on a national tour equipped with storytelling chops and penchant for rock and roll glamour. Living in the city where both Pearl Jam and Quincy Jones cut their teeth, Shaina lends her soulful voice to projects of all genres. Her heart songs are steeped in American folk and redefine the Outlaw genre.

Inspired by Nina Simone’s commitment to representing the times with the ivories at her fingers, Shaina Shepherd tells heartfelt stories of love, loss, and personal power. She describes herself as an anthem artist translating pivotal moments in human history through her unique form of poetry.

She has recently been featured in Nordstrom’s holiday campaign with her release of “Never Be Another You”, played a KEXP in session, and is excited to premiere her first body of work “dearly departed’ on the road as a celebration of life yet to live.

Delving create from the heart of the human experience, weaving their unique blend of electric guitars, psychedelic keys, and hypnotic drums throughout songs both catchy and introspective. “Pink Into Grey”, the band’s debut full-length album, is set to release November 4th, 2022 on American Standard Time Records – with appearances by members of The Rainbow Girls, TK & The Holy Know-Nothings, guest guitar by Jeremy Ferrara, and string arrangements by composer/songwriter David Allred.
