Kevin Scoma with Ben Greenberg & Single Girl, Married Girl
February 12 6:45 pm PST
Kevin Scoma is a folk-rock singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. While recording his debut album Into the Weeping Sea in the Spring of 2019, an unexpected spiritual awakening inspired Kevin to make drastic changes in his life. Selling all of his belongings and moving into a van, Kevin Scoma left his hometown of Buffalo, NY and headed out west. Guided by visions and signs, Kevin crossed the country and eventually made his way to Los Angeles, CA to work on his follow up album and begin sharing his revelations with a wider audience.
Kevin Scoma’s music has an intimate feel with deep introspective lyrics and often draws comparisons to Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens. A natural born songwriter, Kevin Scoma has grown up writing simple and honest songs, performing, and touring with several indie bands. His second album will be released in 2022.
Ben Greenberg is an indie/folk singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. He released his debut album “Son of the Hills” during the pandemic, reaching a growing and enthusiastic audience. His heartfelt and poetic lyrics weave together vivid imagery with personal narratives, taking inspiration from artists such as Nick Drake, James Taylor, and Aoife O’Donovan. Through his songs and performances, Ben seeks to offer connection, authenticity, and recognition of the beauty and complexity of life.
SINGLE GIRL, MARRIED GIRL
L.A.-based pop/folk/Americana outfit Single, Girl, Married Girl writes songs that are simultaneously beautiful and devastating with poetic, perceptive lyrics that astutely capture what it means to be human.
Steeped in a folk songwriting tradition that harkens back to Pete Seeger and Joan Baez mixed with modern songwriting elements in the style of Jenny Lewis and Brandi Carlile, Single Girl, Married Girl fearlessly tackles issues ranging from loss and drug addiction to insecurity and depression.
Their new album, Three Generations of Leaving, chronicles the trials and traumas of three generations of women from the same family – the matriarch, one of her daughters, and her estranged granddaughter.
