Marty O’Reilly & The Old Soul Orchestra

Explaining Marty O’Reilly’s music is like describing a dream. It feels familiar, but at the same time unchartered. His songs sound bluesy but not blues, folk but not folk, soulful but not soul. Marty’s voice is beautiful and unique, his lyrics stark yet lush over gritty electrified guitar, melding beautifully into genre-defying music within the vast definitions of Americana. After logging countless miles on the road, generating 10 million-plus streams independently, and earning acclaim from Glide Magazine, Pop Matters, Cowboys & Indians, and more, Marty evolved once again when he and his band, The Old Soul Orchestra released their third full-length album, Signal Fires. A signal fire is lit as a beacon of light in the darkness, a message sent out to others, a declaration of one’s existence and an effort to be found.

“I was at a point in my life where I reached an undeniable new chapter,” observes Marty. “As a songwriter, I could feel my life changing in terms of what I wanted from the world, my career, my responsibilities, and my relationships. In the early days, we were a band who would sleep on floors and chase adventures. Now, we’re maturing and a little wiser. There’s a bittersweet nostalgia as one era ends and incredible excitement and curiosity for what’s about to happen moving forward.”
