New York’s Darling Petra Jarrar has been praised for her songs containing “all the nutrients for pop hits.”
Her sound is a fresh take on pop, featuring dreamy electronics fused into danceable, hook-drenched anthems with a nostalgic electro-pop sensibility. Through her songwriting, Petra tells her honest stories through bold imagery that explores quintessential narratives that define her generation from a personal, social and political perspective.
Petra has performed all over the world from New York to Tokyo at venues including Webster Hall, Knitting Factory, Mercury Lounge, and (le) Poisson Rouge. She’s been featured in showcases and tours alongside artists such as Blu DeTiger and Jake Miller.
In the past, Petra has collaborated with brands including Guitar Center, D’addario Strings, Ernie Ball, and Roland, to name a few.
Coming from a Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian ethnic background, Petra says she “never truly saw girls who looked like her in the spotlight.” She continually uses her platform and voice to pave the way for womxn of color, advocating for diversity, representation, and inclusion throughout the music industry.
