Rebecka Larsdotter

May 13 9:30 pm PDT

Main Stage

Doors Open: 9:00 pm

Born and raised in the forrest of Sweden, music was a big part of Rebeckas life from the very start. Playing violin, piano, and singing from the age of 4, Rebecka chose to make Music her full time life in 2002 by taking on a Masters Degree in Music from Örebro and Malmö University of Music.

Upon graduating in 2008, Rebecka moved to the US (Los Angeles, then New York) to pursue her passion for songwriting and performing. She has since been writing, performing, singing, and working as a voice and piano instructor.

Diving into both the straight ahead jazz world, interpreting standards along with composing her own songs, Rebecka has found her home in the mix of improvisation, melodies, rhythms, and captivating lyrics.

Rebecka has had the privilege to work with amazing musicians both in Scandinavia and the US, some of them noted here:

Charles Altura,  Tony Austin, Carl Bagge, Mahesh Balasooryia, Kristian Brink, Gerald Clayton, Brandon Coleman, Chris Coleman, Emmet Cohen, Stacy Dillard, Hadrien Feraud, Wycliffe Gordon,  Ari Hoenig, Henrik Linder, Jonathan Lundberg,  Shai Maestro,  Zane Musa, Nick Mancini, Vardan Ovsepian, Aaron Parks, Joe Sanders, Ruslan Sirota, Dayna Stephens, Ben Street, and Kamasi Washington.

Since her last album, Rebecka has effortlessly moved from jazz to more pop/R&B-based territories. Still writing the bulk of the material herself, she collaborates with international talent like producers Dominique Xavier Taplin, Tony Austin, master guitarist Oz Noy, and others.

The result is highly melodic, and tastefully produced. The music is often based on beats, other times more organic. The lyrics reflect on life choices, relations, happiness and regret.

At the center of it all is Rebeckas unmistakable voice, sometimes melancholy, often soothing, always sensual.

This night will include Rebeckas core-team ; Tony Austin (drums) & Dominique Xavier Taplin (keys)
