Rocko Wheeler Record Release Show

November 13, 2021 10:00 pm PST

Second Stage

Doors Open: 9:30 pm

Rocko Wheeler
From his roots in rural East Texas to emerging on the Hollywood indie scene, Rocko Wheeler writes music as diverse as the terrain. He was deemed “the ghost of Gram Parsons” by the Deli Magazine for his lyrical LA-themed debut The Book of Rocko Wheeler.

During early 2020, while living in Nashville, quarantine was precipitated by a deadly tornado that flattened the epicenter of the East Nashville neighborhood. Picking up the pen with autobiography as well as imaginative storytelling, he teamed up with producer-songwriter Kyle Cox. Wheeler wrote and recorded songs about the destruction of the storm, FaceTime dating, isolation, and hope for good news—mixed by Mike Marsh of The Avett Brothers, and containing a host of Nashville’s finest.

Wheeler has tracked albums at the famed Butcher Shoppe and Bomb Shelter studios with Grammy-Winners Sean Sullivan and Andrija Tokic. His forthcoming album TAKE SHELTER releases November 12, 2021.

He lives in Los Angeles, CA.

with Kaley Rutledge
After years under the artist name De Joie, Kaley Rutledge is stepping out into the music world as entirely herself. In a time that brought unparalleled, harrowing loss–both globally and personally–Kaley learned the sacred gift of telling her story honestly. In this debut record, “Tender Heart,” she takes you on a journey that strikes a balance between softness and grit, speaking sincerely about topics ranging from rediscovering lifeʼs simple pleasures to the pain of losing someone you love.

Written and recorded in Nashville with local musicians and producer Thad Kopec, “Tender Heart” is an anthem to the privilege of owning your full humanity. With the soul of Feist, the spunk of 1960ʼs pop, and the rhythmic wonders of the Bahamas–this album richly weaves its inspirations from those that know how to take us to a soft, beautiful place.
