Ryan LeVine with DESURE and Hannah Connolly
December 3, 2021 7:00 pm PST
Doors Open: 6:30 pm$12
The third time proves to be the charm for singer/songwriter Ryan LeVine. After seven years and two major label deals as the lead singer of alternative band Wildling, Ryan seems to have finally found his voice, alone. At the end of 2018, Ryan’s life cracked down the center as both his personal and professional relationships came crashing to the ground, leaving him alone and unsure of how to proceed. Instead of forcing movement without any clear direction, Ryan chose to sit still, to stay with the uncertainty, and begin to process the tsunami of loss and confusion he was feeling. The resulting work from this time spent in idle introspection is a debut EP entitled “Good Things to Remember”, and if the two lead singles “Signs” & “You Don’t Hold the Cards Anymore” are any indication, we are beginning to see a songwriter stepping confidently into his prime.
Desure‘s music occupies the space between genres. It’s a sound that’s every bit as diverse as his native Los Angeles, a town whose anything-goes spirit and melting pot of musical traditions — including alternative rock, West Coast pop, psychedelia, punk, and indie-folk — left a permanent mark on the songwriter. With the Pollen EP, he salutes those wide-ranging influences while also moving beyond them, chasing down a style that’s adventurous, lushly Californian, and uniquely his own.
Hannah Connolly is an American singer/songwriter from Eau Claire, WI now based in Los Angeles, CA. Her first album, From Where You Are was released in January of 2020.
The 10-track LP blends somber indie folk with warm classic country. Connolly’s music is heartfelt and emotive, drawing influence from Patty Griffin, Alison Krauss, and the Arizona desert where her family now lives.
American Songwriter writes, “Hannah Connolly is a breath of fresh air for the Folk/Country scene showing off her graceful vocals and uplifting music, acting as a resurgence for classic country twang and great storytelling.”
Following the release of From Where You Are, Hannah is currently recording her second album with friend and producer Jordan Ruiz.
