Spotlight Sessions Presents: Ali Angel, Georgia Feroce, Phoebe Silva & Tre Nixon
October 21 7:00 pm PDT
Doors Open: 6:30 pm$10
LA-based singer-songwriter Ali Angel energizes and inspires listeners with the honesty and optimism she evokes through her songs. Her music is tinged with twangy soul, strong vibrato and gritty, bluesy rock riffs. Upon releasing her debut single, “Play Pretend” in April of this year, her record has already amassed almost 70k streams on Spotify and has been added to various significant playlists. Listeners have compared her classic sound to the likes of Lake Street Dive, St Paul and the Broken Bones, Grace Potter and Sheryl Crow. With a little bit of retro-soul pop, alternative rock and some humor, Ali has taken the best of many genres and intertwined them to encapsulate a sound that lovers of country, soul, indie and classic rock can all be drawn towards. She’s spent the last two years performing around LA with her band and producing her debut EP, which will be released at the top of next year.
Named after the song, “Georgia Rae” by John Hiatt, it’s no wonder singer-songwriter Georgia Feroce was singing before she could talk. Since moving from New England to Los Angeles in early 2015, Georgia has truly found herself as an artist. Her music is raw, vulnerable and uniquely her, yet overwhelmingly relatable, catchy and infectious. Since 2020, Georgia has been releasing singles from her upcoming debut LP, Moon Signs, out October 29, 2021. The twelve-track indie-rock inspired record with an astrology backdrop tells the story of self discovery through heartbreak and acceptance. Whether she’s playing solo with her Taylor guitar or backed by her talented band, Georgia’s stage presence and conviction have helped cement herself as a favorite up-and-coming artist around Los Angeles.
LA based indie artist Phoebe Silva is a shapeshifter, a genre-bending, multi-instrumentalist, multi-disciplinary artist. Her powerful voice moves smoothly between clean classical folk and gritty blues-rock. Her onstage presence is dynamic and full of passion and transparent vulnerability. Her songwriting influences range from classic American folk, to 60’s pop, to 90’s feminist singer-songwriters. She’s evoked comparisons to Linda Rondstadt, Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette, Patsy Cline, Adele and Amy Winehouse. A mainstay on the LA indie scene, she’s thrilled to return to her second home at the Hotel Cafe!
Bay Area based artist Tré Nixon blends his sound from the 70’s & 80’s, his debut releases having prompted comparisons to the likes of Prince, Bruce Springsteen & Green Day. Being born tonedeaf, Nixon grasped onto hard work and passion to gain the skills needed to achieve his dream of becoming a musician. At 18, he worked multiple jobs, took singing lessons and joined local choirs to hone his skills. At 21, he moved to Los Angeles and lived in his car for 3 months to afford studio time to record his first EP. Today, he is getting ready to release his debut album, “Hard Workin’ Party Animal” early next year. Nixon brings nothing but positive, high energy passion into every performance, and is ecstatic to premier his brand new music at the iconic Hotel Cafe!
