The Peony Pavilion is a Jazz fusion band led by Yenju Chen, performing Mandarin pop songs from the 80’s in derivative and different Jazz genres. Yenju is a Taiwanese composer, vocalist and violinist who currently lives in LA. Born and raised in Taiwan, she has a passion for presenting the music from her culture. She arranges the old classic songs into Straight Ahead, Bluegrass, Molto Jazz, Funk, combining the sound from her hometown and the sound from the place she lives for now. The music will be performed by Yenju Chen, Joseph Dockery, Lucas Halfman, Arthur Siprut and Ben Shultz.
Jolee Gordon is a songwriter, improviser, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist. Born and raised in NYC, she has a unique sound that draws on various styles of music. Jolee Band is a culmination of her songs featuring friends and longtime collaborators, Matthew Okun, Rubin Hohlbein, and Ko Takasugi Czernowin.
