The Prickly Pair, Jenna Isn’t Famous and Tito Woods
December 9, 2021 7:00 pm PST
Doors Open: 6:30 pm
The Prickly Pair:
Irene Greene & Mason Summit join forces as The Prickly Pair, a newly-formed duo specializing in angsty Americana with a contemporary perspective. The two met at the USC Thornton School of Music, where they bonded over shared influences & unsolved mysteries. Both have pursued solo careers but sought to combine their talents in a project that demonstrates a deep mutual love of country & western traditions while staying true to their own musical instincts. Together, they write evocative songs rich in imagery & emotion, harmonizing above soft acoustic fingerpicking or lively strumming. Mason & Irene are hard at work on their first release. Jenna Isn’t Famous
The California-based singer-songwriter brings a refreshing new take on the term “art-pop.” While her vocal performance calls back to the ballroom darlings of the 50’s and ’60s, the electronica and jazz-inspired melodies inject her music with the innovative trends of today. Aside from her vocal performance, Jenna also flexes her lyrical muscles in a roster full of intimate yet empowering words of wisdom. Through themes of independence and self-reliance, her lyrics burst with commanding energy while remaining witty in their self-awareness.
On stage, Jenna displays that she knows what she wants and how to show it. Nothing lands on the senses without her stamp of approval. From the commanding stride towards the stage to that final moment when the mic’s retired on the stand, Jenna sheds her demons in plain view.
Tito Woods is a wistful songwriter whose band sound blends reverb-heavy Indie Rock guitar riffs with Dub bass and Jazz inspired rhythm. He released his debut EP in January of 2019 and quickly followed it with a single in the fall of that same year. He is currently working on a new EP!
