Blak Emoji is the moniker of NYC recording artist, songwriter and producer, Kelsey Warren. With a sonic mix of electronic, pop, and alt-r&b, Warren returns to Hotel Cafe for another intimate solo night. After years of fronting heavy pop rock combos, Warren first performed as Blak Emoji early 2016 during an impromptu gig in Budapest. His 2017 debut EP, INTRO, dropped with critical acclaim from Afropunk, The Line Of Best Fit, BUST & Vampire Freaks. Singles “Sapiosexual”, “Velvet Ropes & Dive Bars” and “Poison To Medicine” were licensed to various network programs on ABC, CBS, BET and MTV.
Warren frequently switches between solo and full band shows. Blak Emoji, as a full band, supported a wide range of artists like Solange, Fantastic Negrito, Blk Odyssy, Dorothy and Justina Valentine in the U.S. Years later, Warren resumed touring solo in Europe and across the U.S.
Late 2024, he released a new single “Dry Your Eyes”, and launched his independent label, Future Vintage distributed by The Syndicate. Currently, he’s recording the follow up to his Eclectro album, for Fall 2025 release.
