Rising Jamaican singer/songwriter Keznamdi has just revealed the title of his forthcoming studio album: BLOOD AND FYAH is due out in late Spring/early Summer. The second full-length album from the artist who has already topped the Billboard and iTunes Reggae Albums Chart, respectively, promises to deliver more of the vibrant, compelling, globally-inspired material for which he has come to be known. BLOOD AND FYAH features a brand new collaboration with dancehall superstar Mavado. The full album track listing and more information will be announced soon.

Of BLOOD AND FYAH, Keznamdi avowed, “To my people, my family, my community—this one is for us. I’ve always believed that music is more than just sound; it’s a world, a movement, a reflection of life itself. That’s why I took a step back from touring and performing last year—to pour every ounce of myself into creating something that truly matters. To write great music, you have to live, to feel, to witness, and to endure.

BLOOD AND FYAH is the result of that journey. It is exactly what it sounds like. Blood – the sacrifice, the pain, the work, and the dedication that brought me here. Fyah – the transformation, the burning away of the old to make way for growth. And the fire that must continue to rage against injustice. This is more than an album. It’s a call. A message. A movement.”

A recently released track from BLOOD AND FYAH, “Pressure,” has just hit #1 on the Digital Radio Tracker Global Top 150 Independent Airplay Chart. Check out the video for “Pressure” here. Filmed in Ghana, the video highlights Keznamdi’s deep cultural roots to Africa. During the filming of the video, Keznamdi was honored to meet with the newly-elected President of Ghana, who had just utilized Keznamdi’s song “Victory” (the video for which has nearly 4 million views on YouTube) in his Presidential campaign. President John Dramani-Mahama immediately requested a meet and greet after hearing Keznamdi was in Ghana for the video shoot.

Melding traditional reggae with dancehall, Afrobeats, world music, hip-hop and soul, Keznamdi’s sound has captivated audiences worldwide clocking in over 20 million streams to date. He has already held the #1 spot on both the iTunes Top Reggae Album Charts and Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and boasts a diverse list of top-notch collaborations including Zhu, A-Trak, Poo Bear and more. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, to Rastafari parents, singers with the iconic reggae outfit Chakula, Keznamdi grew up with both musical and activist influences. Facing discrimination and bullying in his youth, he learned early on to strengthen his resolve and live life on his own terms. An international work opportunity for his mother led the family’s move to Tanzania and then Ethiopia, which became a colorful and enlightening backdrop for young Keznamdi’s creative palette.

Keznamdi made his debut in 2013 with the independent “Bridging the Gap” EP. It scored #1 on the iTunes Top Reggae Albums Chart and the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. He built a fanbase with consistent performances around Jamaica, then going on to make inroads towards a global impact. Following came the “Skyline Levels, Vol 1” EP in 2017, featuring the triumphant single “Victory” with Chronixx, which hit over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers. He quickly went on to headline a sold-out tour, packing venues across the United States. BLOODLINE is Keznamdi’s first full-length album. Recorded at his family’s Skyline Levels studio in Jamaica, mixed in Miami and mastered at Abbey Road, the project was released in 2019 to critical acclaim. Of the album, Reggaeville heralded, “…Keznamdi nails it…despite all his perfection, there is still an element of emotional fragility in his delivery that makes this artist so damn relatable.”
