Eloise Alterman, With Syd Taylor
November 20 8:00 pm PST
Second Stage
Doors Open: 7:30
$20A self-taught pianist/guitarist who began penning soul-baring songs in her early teens, Eloise Alterman moved to Nashville alone at age 17, without knowing a soul in all of Music City. After spending years working on her own to sharpen her craft, she released her EP Sad Bird. Made with multi-GRAMMY Award winning producer Dave Cobb, Sad Bird presents an up-close portrait of heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery. With an understated yet captivating sound informed by longtime influences like Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell, Eloise hopes to always make music that is honest and true to herself. Alterman boldly pushes outside her comfort zone to uncover the kind of timelessly poignant pop songs that cut right to the heart. Now newly an independent artist, Eloise has been gearing up to release her song called “There She Was”, documenting the time in her life and devastation she has felt after being dropped by her record label and management. Eloise has been living a life consumed by music and songwriting and has no plan on stopping anytime soon.
Indie rock singer, songwriter, and producer, Syd Taylor has just made her debut as an independent artist. Detroit raised, she’s been destined for music since the day she was born. Syd started writing on guitar and piano at the age of 6 years old. Previously known for her role as lead singer in the twin duo Stereo Jane, she has been performing and writing for the last 17 years. Summer of 2024, she decided to give herself a chance to write something solely for herself. She is almost done putting the final touches on her first solo album, fully writing and producing it from her apartment in Los Angeles. Her inspiration comes from classic acts like The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and Nina Simone. With her modern twist, the songs come together to create a beautiful blend of analog and digital.
