IndieSauce Presents: Micelf, Rose Paradise, and Wilter

August 9 9:00 pm PDT

Main Stage

Doors Open: 8:30

$12

Micelf is the solo project of Los Angeles-based musician Ciara Sophia Rudas. She is a storyteller focused on the existential, the beauty of growth in growing pains, the last kiss, our daily little deaths and absolute death. All of which are stitched together through intimate lyrics, honest vocals and straightforward acoustic guitar, offering a soft space for the listener to find themself in the story.

Rose Paradise bottles the feeling of a 1970’s West Coast road trip- growing up in a small town in Northern California, she channeled her childhood surroundings into a blissful blend of folk and rock. Embracing the honky-tonk energy of Nashville country, sweet-like-honey harmonies of Laurel Canyon, and gritty storytelling of the Greenwich Village folk scene, Rose Paradise is everything you love about Americana.

There’s a rawness to her sound she conjured in her years performing in the dive bars and gritty night clubs of New York City. Make no mistake: Rose Paradise is a folk singer who stage dives, moshes, and can send a crowd buck-wild. The tangible chemistry of her band and captivating performances has made her a staple of the downtown live music circuit.

The California chanteuse is poised for her biggest year yet, with upcoming shows at Bowery Ballroom and a hometown show at The Independent. Her 2023 single “Year of the Dog” hints at the emotions and imagery her forthcoming album “Over The Hill” will evoke. “It’s all happening…”

wilter is the solo project of LA songwriter/producer Will Durkee. From acoustic guitars processed through tape until they seem like a half-forgotten memory, to swarms of piercing digital synth drones, to rising soundscapes of ambient texture – wilter’s soothingly unstable world is hard to pin down. It’s artificially organic… familiar but foreign.

At the end of the day, he would consider himself a songwriter in the vein of Neil Young or Bon Iver – but his textural production takes cues from the likes of Aphex Twin or Thom Yorke.
