Jolene’s what we call in Tennessee a unicorn, a rare breed of songwriters raised in Music City.
As her name suggests, Jolene comes from a rich musical background growing up in Franklin, Tennessee. Her dad, sound engineer Donivan Cowart, worked with Dolly.
A studio mouse from the time she was born, she soaked in the influences of Johnny, Emmylou, and Willie. She listened to Roseanne Cash records being mixed, Rodney Crowell songs being written in real time, and flawless vocals by Lee Ann Womack. And it all made a lifelong lasting impression on her, and taught her the power of sharing our stories through music. And as she grew up and started collecting records by Sheryl Crow, the Chicks and Reba, her own unique blend of roots Americana & 90s vibes became her signature sound, and a storied life, her coal mine.
Melodic storytelling with rocker chick tendencies, Jolene’s live show will leave you with heartwarming nostalgia and hope for the world. We can all get along for the duration of a song.

Recently off the road with “Uncle” Rodney Crowell, Jolene is officially on the scene as an up and coming artist, but far from new to songwriting and performing.
With the delivery of a seasoned vet, and meaningful – albeit heavy at times – lyrics, Jolene’s songs tell her story. And it’s a good one.
