The Consulate General of Ireland presents Liam Ó Maonlaí – A concert in support of Los Angeles Hurling Club
October 30 7:00 pm PDT
Main Stage
Doors Open: 6:30
$20Liam Ó Maonlaí is an Irish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist, painter, and dancer – once described by Bono as “the best white boy soul singer in the world”.
In 1985, Liam and schoolmate Fiachna Ó Braonáin formed Hothouse Flowers, a group that has produced over half a dozen albums and continues to tour. In recent years, Ó Maonlaí has released solo albums “Rían” and “To Be Touched”, the former of which has been adapted into a modern dance show with Irish choreographer and director Michael Keegan-Dolan.
Spanning over a quarter century, Ó Maonlaí’s career has seen him achieve number-one hits in over twenty countries, from playing with Aboriginal musicians in the Australian outback and hosting midnight acoustic sessions at international music festivals, to recording with some of the world’s best-known musicians, including Markéta Irglová, Carlos Núñez, Dónal Lunny, U2, and Van Morrison.
