Spotlight Sessions 10 Year Anniversary Show

Join us for an unforgettable night of live music at “A Decade in the Spotlight,” brought to you by The Spotlight Sessions. On September 11, 2024, we’ll be gathering at the intimate and iconic Hotel Cafe to celebrate ten incredible years of showcasing emerging talent.

Hosting this series for the past decade has been an amazing experience, as we’ve had the privilege of curating shows for so many developing artists who are now well on their way to stardom. This night is all about celebrating their journey and the vibrant community that has grown around The Spotlight Sessions showcase.

The evening will feature performances by Your Westies, Lulise, Alexis Hana, Britta Raci, Suzanne Egertson, and Mike Medina, with the showcase’s founder, Jared Saia hosting. It’s going to be a night full of great vibes and amazing music.

From the deserts of Los Angeles comes Your Westies, a mirage and smoldering dream. Inspired by the wave of early 2000’s indie rock, the band is sure to become the soundtrack to your next night out. The band’s songwriting duo, Nicholas Montes and Louie J. Espitia are set to hit the stage out Hollywood’s Hotel Cafe, sharing intimate versions of the band’s new material from their upcoming EP, “Leave the Prints”. 

 

If Carrie Bradshaw (the main character of the tv show sex and the city) wrote songs instead of newspaper columns & lived in LA instead of NY, Lulise’s songs would be the perfect time capsules of what it’s like to look for love, find yourself, & fix your broken heart as a 20 something in the 2020’s. Her sultry voice, diary-like lyrics, catchy melodies & spicy chord progressions make up for the unforgettable pop/r&b combination of your new favorite artist, Lulise.

Alexis Hana

 

Britta Raci is a Los Angeles based indie pop/rock who takes a twist on typical breakup lyrics. The solo project was launched mid-2023 with three singles that each showcase her catchy vocal melodies and honest songwriting. Her debut ep “striking out” features fun energetic rock songs that will make you want to bop your head while your heart is broken.

Michael Medina is a rising acoustic singer-songwriter hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. With a passion for crafting intimate, soulful music that resonates with listeners. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences including Counting Crows, Bon Iver, and Frank Ocean, his music blends elements of folk, alternative R&B, and indie rock into a unique sound that’s all his own. With emotive vocals and subtl guitar work, Medina’s songs create a space for listeners to connect with their deepest emotions and find solace in the beauty of his music.
