Like stumbling into a rose garden on a trek through the arctic, listeners of Emily Anderson’s music find themselves helplessly lifted into a world so hauntingly familiar, and yet so enchantingly curious. Alaska grown and LA based, Anderson has recently released a sophomore record, “Salt & Water”. Her single “Gold” was featured in a national Miller Lite campaign and a number of her works have been featured in video games (Calico, The Stars Between Us). Her poignant lyrics and intimate indie soundscapes are akin to Regina Spektor ruminating over coffee with Phoebe Bridgers.

Singer-songwriter Joyce Lee’s musical journey has been a testament to resilience and passion. From her humble beginnings singing in church choirs and learning classical piano, Joyce discovered her true calling in rock n’ roll at the age of 16. Despite initially lacking support from friends and family, she dedicated years in Los Angeles to honing her craft until unforeseen circumstances temporarily derailed her path.

A devastating bilateral arm injury left Joyce unable to play any musical instrument for over two years. Nevertheless, she refused to be silenced. Following a rigorous rehabilitation process, Joyce turned to livestreaming in January 2020 as a means to reignite her musical spark. Through platforms like Twitch, she has captivated audiences with her raw talent and magnetic presence, showcasing her resilience and unwavering dedication to her art.

Currently collaborating on her third studio album with acclaimed multi-platinum producer Dean Dichoso, known for his work with industry heavyweights like FeFe Dobson and esteemed brands like Netflix and Warner Canada, Joyce continues to push boundaries and defy expectations. Her music, a fusion of eclectic influences and poetic lyricism, offers a unique blend of introspection and wit set against a backdrop of hauntingly beautiful melodies. Experience the artist who is “brilliant” and “as beautiful offstage as she is on” for yourself.

Writing songs that deal with every color and nuance of life, The Songery aims to push mental boundaries through genre-bending pop and theatrics. Genre is a spectrum- and the spectrum can be utilized to manifest a powerful message through music. The concepts, ideas, and messages behind the songs are more important than the music itself and it is all means to an end. Every move, sound, and visual is developed with care and intent in a final attempt to peel back the mask that humanity can so easily wear.

The Songery manages to perform with a unique intuition, capturing and conjuring even the oddest parts of us. Hers is a call to empathy, authenticity, and connection: reminding us that we each have a spark within us to share and that we are not alone.

You can find her streaming on Twitch four times a week, or check out her very-DIY-yet-award-winning music videos on YouTube.
