Johnny Moezzi is a singer-songwriter guitarist based in Los Angeles, Ca. A combination of sneaking into a BB King performance at the infamous Monterey (Pop Festival) Fairgrounds while in high school, followed shortly thereafter by meeting the family of Richie Valens and regularly sitting in with the Backyard Blues Band, began a life-long love affair and stewardship of the blues. After graduating from the American University in Washington D.C., Moezzi moved to Los Angeles becoming bandleader/guitarist to legendary blues singer Miss Mickey Champion. The time with “Miss Mickey” was a musical grad-school proving to be the most influential and formative years of Moezzi’s musical journey. Living within the dense artistic/musical tapestry of Los Angeles at this time led to his meeting a collective of musicians and artists in the spirit of the Laurel Canyon scene of the 1960’s called The Beachwood Rockers Society. The collaborations with singer-songwriters in this period would greatly inform Moezzi’s own songwriting and performance, culminating in him being a long-standing resident at the now legendary Piano Bar in Hollywood alongside such luminaries as Kamasi Washington, Chuck E Weiss and Brother Sal. Johnny has produced and independently released 6 albums, 3 of which are currently on all major streaming services.
