Asayo is a Los Angeles–based indie-folk artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose music combines cinematic arrangements with quiet lyrical introspection. After years in Tokyo performing and composing for television, film, and commercials, she returned home to dedicate herself to recording her own songs.
Asayo writes about the in-between places—where memories meet the now, and home becomes something you carry with you.
Her upcoming debut EP traces a decade-long journey toward artistic independence, exploring the quiet contradictions of coming of age—the push and pull between self-abandonment and self-discovery, heartbreak and hope, nostalgia and rebirth.Her debut single “California,” out now, is a love letter to the places and things that feel like home, and to the person you become in search of them
