Barabás Lőrinc is a Hungarian trumpeter and composer known for his innovative contributions to jazz, electronic, and neoclassical music. With a prolific career spanning almost two decades, he has released twelve albums as a solo artist and with various ensembles.
In his solo performances, he creates film score–like and richly atmospheric compositions that highlight both his expressive piano playing and distinctive trumpet sound, interwoven with electronic pieces using beats and lush sonic textures. His live shows seamlessly blend trumpet, piano, and synthesizers into unique, contemporary soundscapes that echo the spirit of the neoclassical movement pioneered by artists such as Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds.
He regularly tours throughout Europe and the United States. In recent years, he has shared the stage with Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, and Jean-Michel Jarre, and has collaborated with Erik Truffaz, Nicola Conte, Takuya Kuroda, Niklas Paschburg, and American singer Valerie June.
Lőrinc has performed at numerous international events, including the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), iTunes Festival (UK), North Sea Jazz Festival (The Netherlands), Noosa Jazz Festival (Australia), Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Ficamazonia Film Festival (Colombia), Expo 2020 Dubai, The Town Hall (New York), and Expo 2025 Osaka (Japan).
His latest solo album, 22, features minimalist and melancholic compositions that highlight his piano skills alongside his trumpet work. World-renowned Japanese jazz trumpeter Takuya Kuroda praised it:
“Beautiful melody throughout the album. Amazing compositions with great theme development. Super soulful playing on both piano and the trumpet.”
