Sunset Ecléctico Presents: Marilyn Odessa “Entre Copas Y Canciones”

Marilyn Odessa continues to forge her path in Regional Mexican music with authenticity, conviction, and a powerful vocal presence that sets her apart. Born in Los Angeles, California, Marilyn Odessa Hernández Esqueda grew up surrounded by stages, studios, and music history. As the daughter of two iconic figures—her mother, the legendary Marisela, “La Dama de Hierro,” and her father, renowned trumpeter Pedro Rey Jr., “El Torito”—the stage was never a fantasy for Marilyn; it was home. She first confirmed this calling in childhood through television, and later fully embraced her place in music, exploring banda, ranchera, mariachi, and grupero with a style that is distinctly her own.

Her artistic journey reflects a fearless and genuine evolution. One of her most heartfelt projects was a tribute to her mother, reinventing several of Marisela’s classics with banda arrangements—honoring a legacy while asserting her own voice as an interpreter.

Destiny would soon lead her to one of the most symbolic chapters of her career: “Las Herederas,” a touring production created alongside Betty Solís that celebrates musical lineage and female strength. The show launched an international tour that moved audiences across and beyond the United States.

Today, Marilyn begins a new creative era with her husband and producer, Giorgio Cárdenas, releasing original music that reveals a more intimate, mature, and self-aware artist. Her first single, “Amor Eterno,” marks the beginning of this chapter—one in which Marilyn Odessa stands fully in her truth, ready to conquer what comes next.
