Freya Ridings w/ Annika Bennett

February 28 7:00 pm PST

Doors Open: 6:30

Freya Ridings was the surprise international success story of 2018/19, the North Londoner who caught lightning in a bottle with her song ‘Lost Without You’, then chased her #3, Gold-certified and BRIT-nominated debut album’s subsequent success around the world with over 1 billion streams and 47 Gold and Platinum Global Certificate. Her self-titled debut featured the hits Castles, Lost Without You and You Mean The World To Me. The singles received support form BBC Radio 1, Radio, Capital FM playlists and the last time a female artist hit the Top 10 with a song 100% written by themselves was in 2012 with a re-charting of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill. She was the No.1 artist in the UK Independent singles chart in 2018 and her talents have already been recognised by a variety of influential fans, including GQ, Sunday Times, The Times, Daily Telegraph; she was invited to perform in the US on The Late Late Show with James Corden, plus an appearance on Sports Personality of the Year and Stand Up To Cancer.
Freya was further tipped by everyone from Taylor Swift to Florence Welch and Richard Quinn.

Freya Ridings’ first single of 2023, ‘Weekends’, proved to be one of her biggest hits to date as it earned a flurry of airplay (including Tune of the Week at Radio 1 and a playlist at Radio 2) as it was propelled into the Top 40 of the Official Charts. Subsequent tracks ‘Face In The Crowd’, ‘Can I Jump?’ and ‘Perfect’ continued to win new fans and reconnect with existing ones, and her profile was further boosted by playing The Coronation Concert, Glastonbury and her own autumn headline tour which concluded with a 5000-capacity show at London’s Eventim Apollo and full live album YouTube and DSP release, Blood Orange Live at Apollo rounding off 2023.

One listen to Freva’s second album ‘Blood Orange’ reveals just how much Freya is willing to open her heart as she crafted its fourteen songs. It’s effectively an album of two halves: 18 months of Freya’s lost in the depths of heartbreak and loneliness, and then another 18 months in which she emerges happier than ever before. The moods are both bitter and sweet, the songs spanning from reflective and intimate to joyous and inclusive, and the transition that she grows through casts a powerfully uplifting spell upon the listener.

Annika Bennett is an artist from New York City with a sound that fuses alternative, singer-songwriter, and the melodic instinct of McCartney classic rock. Following the success of her debut EP, “Only Emotion,” Bennett went on a series of US tours opening for LANY (2022), Novo Amor (2022), Local Natives (2023), and Sabrina Carpenter (2023). Her latest project, “Madwoman EP” dropped in March 2023, in conjunction with multiple sold-out headline shows. She is currently gearing up to release her debut album this year, will collaborators such as John Mayer, Jonah Shy, and Fede. She kicks off the release with her first single, “Power, Sex, Dreams”, out on 2/23.
