Kamal is a Beirut born and raised artist based in Los Angeles. He is a concept-driven writer who addresses the intricacies of his own person and the world around him through the passionate scope of the young generation. His lyricism is blunt and purposefully cadenced; ‘I don’t want to be right. I want to be frank.’
A classically trained pianist, Kamal was brought up into a household of professional musicians where he picked up singing at the age of three and writing at age nine. He carries his prolific melodies through powerhouse vocals and engaging performance, effortlessly shifting from pulsating tracks to more soulful records.
Listing artists like Beyoncé, SZA, and Troye Sivan as inspiration, Kamal’s sound is rooted in the seamless blending of Pop and R&B reminiscent of the 2000s era. The catalog he has grown spans from subjects of love, lust, and heartbreak, to deeper themes of self-image and social commentary across a rich sonic spectrum of the Pop/R&B genres.
