Olivia Gatwood & Joaquina Mertz

Olivia Gatwood is the author of two poetry collections, New American Best Friend and Life of the Party. Her debut novel, Whoever You Are, Honey, will be released in Summer 2024. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she lives in Los Angeles.

Joaquina Mertz is a dynamic singer, songwriter, and model, whose talent and versatility have garnered acclaim across various artistic platforms. A proud alumna of Berklee College of Music, Joaquina’s journey in music began at a young age and has since evolved into a flourishing career marked by collaboration and innovation. Throughout her career, Joaquina has had the privilege of working with a diverse array of acclaimed Latinx artists, including Ángel Céspedes, Javier Limón, Los Amigos Invisibles, Ruzzi, Nicole Zignago, Fer Casillas, Noa Sainz, María Centeno, Kirnbauer, Cuauh, Toto la Momposina, and Josean Log, to name a few. Her collaborations have not only enriched her artistic vision but have also contributed to the creation of memorable and impactful music. Joaquina’s impressive list of achievements includes being named the winner of MTV Emergente in 2019, a testament to her rising prominence in the music industry. She has also been featured in NRML, toured with the renowned poet Olivia Gatwood, and joined the prestigious Tania Libertad with her Armando Manzanero homage and was featured as a special guest alongside Los Amigos Invisibles in 2022. With her distinctive voice, compelling songwriting, and magnetic stage presence, Joaquina Mertz continues to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape with each performance.
