After a spectacular 2023 comeback, Canadian alt-pop artist, TYA (tie-ah) returns gender euphoric and better than ever having just won Best Music Video at the Toronto International Music Video Festival and debuting their tap-dancing live show to enthusiastic audiences from SOCAL to CANADA. TYA’s (she/they) penchant for writing and delivering powerhouse vocals with heartfelt image-laden lyrics is on full display in this relatable EP.
TYA’s pop music debut has been a long time coming. They’ve always had a natural talent for singing, and their introduction to songwriting also came early in the form of poems they’d write to sing along to the rhythmic percussion of her father’s tap dancing. A talented actor and dancer in their own right, TYA has a long list of credits, including Netflix’s Midnight Club and NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. With more music, videos, and live shows on the horizon in 2024, this is just the beginning for TYA.
